Our Thursday photo #85

As usual, the past week has been chaos. We’re still playing catch up a bit in terms of finances since the time off I had to take after my husband’s accident. This has meant that I haven’t managed to take time off work over Christmas. I do love being freelance and working from home is the best decision I ever made, but times like this make me realise that it’s far from the easy way out. That said, I’ve made it to all of the children’s parties, events and plays and we’ve had amazing days out together that I never…

Hogwarts in the snow with toddlers: Review

Last week, we were lucky enough to go to the Warner Brothers Studio Tour, London to see Hogwarts in the Snow. I have always loved the Harry Potter books and was really impressed with the film adaptation of it so the studio tour appealed to me. However, my girls are very young. Our Thursday Photo #84

This year has been the first time I’ve really realised how busy we’re going to be as the children get older. I’ve always been keen to encourage the girls to get involved with any interests and activities that appeal to them. I knew this would mean that things were busy but I didn’t anticipate it starting quite so soon. Last weekend, Libby was in three shows with her drama group.…

Cottonridge Club hoody: Review & Win!

When I was given the opportunity to review a Cottonridge Club hoody, I jumped at the chance because I am one of those people who believes a hoody is for life, not just for Christmas. When I find an item of clothing that I love, I will wear it constantly until it falls apart. And here’s the thing. Not only do I love my Cottonridge Club hoody, I’m pretty sure it’s never going to fall apart. Cottonridge have been supplying great quality garments to trade since 1992 but they only started selling direct to the customer in November 2015. All their…

Can I really choose a school for my child?

When we decided to start a family, my husband and I were living in his flat. We loved it there, it was a great area and convenient for nights out and for commuting to work. It would also have been fine to stay there when the girls came along. Fine, but not perfect. There wasn’t that much space and there were only two bedrooms. There was no garden and we had no family in the village. So we knew it was sensible to move, and the perfect home was staring us in the face – because I’d already owned it…
