Spaceship toddler craft

With Libby off school poorly the past few days, I’ve been looking for things to do that weren’t too energetic. Luckily our Bostik blogger craft box for the month arrived just in the nick of time. The theme this month was space and both girls wanted to make a spaceship. This is the perfect craft for children to do themselves. It’s also ideal for two children to work together, because the spaceship is made in two separate parts. What you’ll need An open-bottomed cardboard cone An empty kitchen roll Paint Stickers or other decorations Bostik white PVA glu Glu dots Newspaper Old…

Thursday photo #159

Well what a mistake that was. Last week I mentioned that things seemed to have calmed down. Of course, what followed was a busy weekend with a night out and a blogging conference. Then came a long drive home to deal with ill children. All. Week. The sickness bug Libby rarely gets ill, but when she does, she always makes a proper job of it. My parenting confession

I like to think that all parents do something they’re not proud of. Well okay, I’ve got quite a few. I shout. And not just because I want to get my point across, it’s usually because I’ve lost it. What to expect from your first blogging conference

This is a collaborative post. On Saturday, I headed up to Manchester with a few other bloggers to attend the Blog On conference. I had previously attended World Travel Market (WTM), which a lot of travel bloggers attend. However WTM isn’t specifically aimed at bloggers so Blog On was my first proper conference. About blog on Blog on is huge gathering of bloggers from various different genres. Many of the people who attended were family bloggers but it wasn’t aimed exclusively at that blog topic. The conference consists of four 45 minute slots during which a series of relevant talks take…

10 things you need to know about parkrun

At 9 o’clock on Saturday morning, my four year old daughter and I lined up on a start line in a local park with hundreds of other people. She was bouncing around, excited to be running in a race. There were people with dogs (sorry Bubbles, not this time), elderly joggers, walkers, children and elite runners. And the same scene played out in parks across the country. In fact these days, there are parks around the world where you can turn up at 9 am and run, jog or walk 5K. If this sounds good to you, here are a few more…
