There are some lovely things to do in Warwickshire and the surrounding areas this October half term and Halloween. This is a comprehensive list of days out in Warwickshire, as well as other activities such as pumpkin picking. You can jump straight to each one using the links in the table below. British Motor Museum Warwickshire October half term 2024
Find out what it takes to design a car at the British Motor Museum this October half term. Family tours will be all about tracing tech, allowing visitors to find out how design and technology interlink to drive the evolution of British cars. Follow the black cat trail on the hunt for the museum’s mischievous moggies and use a torch to find out the colour of each cat’s eyes. There’s a reward sticker for everyone who takes part. Another family trail that’s running will be about looking at the details of the cars that are on display. Children will need to collect letters to find out where to go for a design challenge. Don’t forget to head to Pickle and Pumpkin’s Science show to learn even more about car design thorough exciting experiments.

Enchanted Tea Room
The Enchanted Tea Room in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire has various events taking place in October and November. Enjoy afternoon tea with your favourite characters, whether spooky or not so spooky! Bookings include homemade sandwiches, cakes and scones as well as a meet and greet with your chosen characters. Themed events during October half term include:

Hatton Adventure World
There’s a Halloween Spooktacular at Hatton Adventure World this October Half Term. Pick your own pumpkin and carve it, visit the trick or treat village and head to the zombie marsh. Take a tractor ride, watch a magic and mayhem illusion show and visit the creepy cabins. Don’t forget to check out the slithering snakes and creepy critters and why not enjoy lazer combat with a zombie run while you’re there? There will also be fairground rides, a bouncy castle, falconry show, guinea pig handling, a Halloween hunt and superslide mania to enjoy.

Kenilworth Castle Warwickshire October half term 2024
Two events take place at Kenilworth Castle this October half term and Halloween 2024. One is suitable for the whole family, the other is only for those aged 16 and over who are feeling brave!
Halloween Half Term at Kenilworth Castle Warwickshire
Enrol in Monster Hunting Academy this half term at Kenilworth Castle. Visitors will learn how to identify all sorts of monsters, and how to banish them too! When you’ve finished slaying monsters, it’s time to follow a Halloween Quest around the grounds taking on gruesome tasks and solving creepy clues.

Halloween Ghost Tales of Kenilworth Castle
Brave visitors can visit Kenilworth Castle after dark to listen to historic storytellers spinning yarns from years gone by at Kenilworth. Hear about the supernatural sightings, ghosts and historical horrors that give the castle its eery atmosphere after dark. This is only suitable for visitors aged 16 years and over. They advise bringing a torch to this event, things are going to get dark!

Middleton Hall Warwickshire October half term
There are both daytime and evening events at Middleton Hall this October half term.
Visit in the day to follow a spooktacular children’s trail and solve Halloween-themed clues in the gardens to find a password that will reveal a trick or a treat!
Dates: 23rd to 31st October 2024
Halloween at the Hall extends to the evening as well. Explore the Haunted Hall by candlelight. Take a walk around and meet former inhabitants including Cassandra ‘revolting’ Ridgeway and Francis ‘Frightening’ Willughby. This is a family friendly event but it’s only suitable for over 12s.

Shakespeare Birthplace Trust
There are several events taking place at Shakespeare Birthplace Trust properties this October half term. It’s now possible to get one ticket to enjoy all three properties.
- Enjoy live performances of spooky plays in the garden at Shakespeare’s birthplace
- Family Nurture in Nature activities at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage. PUt on wellies and join the Wild Earth Movement to get creative. Make a potion and a magic wand. Nature explorer backpacks are also availalbe to help little ones to get excited about the natural world.
- Artists will lead workshops at Shakespeare’s New Place, have a go at creating your own abstract imagery. Pick up a Creative Explorer backpack on entry and don’t forget to check out the Hidden Voices Exhibition, which celebrates teh lives of women who made Shakespeare.
- All three family homes will have a family trail and historical object handling to enjoy as well.

Warwick Castle October half term 2024
Pay a daytime visit to Warwick Castle this October half term, or choose to brave the haunted castle after dark. There will be plenty of Halloween fun whenever you choose to visit but the castle after dark event is recommended for children aged 10 and over as it may be a bit too scary for younger ones.
The Haunted Castle
Join the spookiest residents of the castle for some haunting fun this half term. Head to Dead Centre Stage for frightful family fun and games. Sing and dance with colourful characters during interactive family shows. Look out for quizzes, spooky stories, games and even a Halloween disco. Make your way to spooky school to hear about Halloween health at the castle, giant slaying and spooky stories. The all-new Witches den sees the witches of Warwick singing and dancing in a spooky live show. Look out for ghosts roaming the grounds and Halloween decorations in the castle.

Castle After Dark
For spine-chilling scares, visit Warwick Castle after dark. The courtyard transforms into a festival of frightful entertainment with scare attractions providing terror at every turn. This is the darker side of Halloween, with terror around every corner. Live bands and DJs perform on the main stage and visitors can enjoy the eerie atmosphere in the castle’s grounds. Street food will be on sale in the courtyard, along with fearless performers including fire-breathers. Look out for spine-chilling scares including the castle dungeon and underground scare mazes. This event is only recommended for visitors aged 10 and over.
