Thursday Photo #133
Every Thursday I sit down to write this post and I genuinely have no idea what I’ve been doing for the past week. I’ve just had to look in my diary to give me a clue. If only I was organised to write everything in there I’d know.
What we’ve been up to this week
Anyway, after a little bit of prompting I’ve remembered roughly what we’ve been up to. Last Friday I had a lovely catch up with a friend who I haven’t seen in far too long. We’ve already made arrangements to have lunch next month too, because at the rate we were going I wouldn’t have seen her again until about 2019.
On Saturday, we all went out for breakfast. We have started to do this fairly regularly at the weekends. Whilst it’s clearly not great for our waistlines, it’s always pleasant to spend an hour sitting down together as a family eating and chatting. After that Libby went to another birthday party. It has been lovely how the children at school have included her in things despite her not having known anyone when she started there.
Meeting other bloggers
This week has been quite exciting for me with two opportunities to catch up with other bloggers. This is something I should do more often because I really enjoyed it. On Tuesday I had coffee with Louise and on Wednesday I headed to the Homesense HIBS100 Christmas party.
It was great to see Louise and we’d been meaning to get around to it for ages as she only lives up the road from me. It was also lovely to meet loads of bloggers for the first time at the Christmas party. I’ll be writing a post about this over the next few days, but it’s safe to say I had a fabulous time with gorgeous Homesense goodies to check out and plenty of wine flowing all evening. Plus, when I arrived and asked behind the bar where the function was, I was directed to through the bookshelf to find the function room. Awesome!
Feedback from school
The highlight of the week for me was going to Libby’s school parent’s evening. It was great to hear that she’s on track with everything she needs to do academically. But I was even more delighted to hear that she’s regarded as a nice little girl who is kind to her classmates and knows how to share. What a lovely thing to hear.
We also had a note from Lia’s nursery over the weekend, one of their regular updates on how she’s getting on. It told a lovely little story about how Lia was playing nicely with the other children at the drawing table. She picked up a ruler from the table and another child decided they wanted it. Apparently Lia “determinedly pulled it away from him.” Perhaps she’s got a little way to go on the sharing front but I’m glad she can stick up for herself.
Our Thursday Photo #133
This week our Thursday Photo #133 is of the girls in their beautiful dresses from The Vintage Sweetheart. I’ll be publishing a full review tomorrow but the last order date for Christmas is 27th November so get your order in quick if you would like one! Please note, these dresses were sent to me for the purpose of a review. I was not asked to include them in this post but I just couldn’t resist this photo!
