Our Thursday Photo #47

As you may have noticed from my blog post yesterday, I’m doing my best to lead by example to teach my children positivity.  I’d love to bring you a positive post today to say how well it’s going. But the fact is, it isn’t.  We sat down to dinner yesterday and the conversation turned to what Libby wanted to do when she gets older.  Libby is already desperate to be in a position to get a job. We have several family members who work in a local pub, so she thinks she’ll probably work there.  This is partly because she…

Our Thursday Photo #46

Over the past few weeks, I have been writing a few blog posts that are rather more controversial than my usual drivel about our mundane lives.  It has been fabulous to get some positive reactions to my these posts, and even better to notice that more people are reading my blog and taking the time to comment.  And yet, it is a relief to reach Thursday and revert to my usual nonsense about our week. I love the way that our Thursday photos are shaping up into a record of the girls growing up and I can’t wait to print them off…

Our Thursday Photo #45

Well, this week has been a bit of a whirlwind. I’ve been desperately trying not to swamp myself with work again and failing dismally. I know it just takes me so much longer when I’m tired and I’m determined not to get back in the same rut again, so I’m hoping to sort my life out over the weekend and start next week with a fresh outlook.  Lia is getting steadier on her feet by the day, I’m concerned that she might walk a little earlier than Libby did. Libby didn’t walk independently until she was 13 months, which with…

This evening when he got home from work, hubby took the girls to the shop to buy me something for mother’s day. This sounded promising, after all it could only be an improvement on last year, when I received this for mother’s day.  Hubby was quick to point out that it’s the thought that counts, but I’m pretty sure not a lot of thought went into this.  Anyway, fast forward to this evening, and things are looking up somewhat, since Libby came home from the shop and announced that she’d bought me some flowers, “But I’m not allowed to tell…

Our Thursday Photo #43

This week, for some reason things seem to have fallen into place.  Lia has been sleeping a lot better for a while now, but I hadn’t really managed to make the most of it and get my own life in order. I was still working until around 2 am most nights, sometimes even later.  So, towards the end of last week I decided to cut down on my work for a few days. I didn’t stop completely, but took on notably less for four days. We didn’t go away or do anything in particular, I just got back into a…

Lia is now 42 weeks old. For the record, that’s how long I was pregnant with her for. I’m sorry if you are coming up to your 40th week of pregnancy but for me, pregnancy just doesn’t last 40 weeks. Anyway, enough of that pregnancy talk, I can safely say never again.  This week has been one of those quietly monumental weeks for all of us. Lia has really come out of herself and blossomed into a little person. She is pulling herself up on everything, crawling incredibly well and interacting with everyone.  Libby has today received her first pair…

Our Thursday Photo #41

This week has been mainly about Libby, just the way she likes it. We’ve been to the eye hospital with her twice and they have realised that her sight isn’t too good and given her a prescription for some glasses.  We’re off to choose the glasses on Saturday and I’m hoping it will make a huge difference to her. I had no idea she had sight problems and the pictures she couldn’t see in the initial tests were still really quite large and it surprised me a little bit.  It sounds like her sight could get better or worse as…
