Save money on West Midlands days out with tastecard [AD]
AD (Paid Collaboration)
Are you finding that West Midlands days out are becoming too pricey? As a family, the cost of tickets really adds up. That’s why it’s a good idea to grab discounts when they’re available. You are probably aware of tastecard as a great way to save money on Birmingham restaurant deals. But did you know that you can use it for money off cinema tickets, UK attractions and big brands too? This post takes a look at the deals available with tastecard in the West Midlands area. If you’d like to bring your pooch with you, check out my list of dog friendly days out in the West Midlands to see which attractions accept dogs.
West Midlands days out with a tastecard discount
My girls came home from school the other day with a discount voucher for a local attraction. It wasn’t a particularly big discount, we still couldn’t afford it. And yet the kids now had it in their mind that they wanted to go. Fortunately, the discounts on tastecard make local days out much more affordable. And they’re just there if you decide to use them, rather than being thrust on the kids so they beg parents to take them.
These local days out all benefit from a tastecard discount. I’ll list the current discount rates but these are subject to change. To get these discounts, make sure you book via the tastecard app.
- Alton Towers: Up to 53% off tickets for your whole group
- Sea Life Birmingham: Up to 24% off when you book online in advance
- Bear Grylls Adventure: Up to 33% off when you book via the tastecard app
- Warwick Castle: Up to 47% off the price of entry for everyone in your group
- LEGOLAND Discovery Birmingham: Up to 23% off OR combi admission for LEGOLAND and Sea Life for less than half-price
- Tough Mudder: 25% off entry to all events
- Cinema: Variable discounts across multiple cinemas in the West Midlands area with e-codes available via the app
Using your discount in local restaurants
I’ve had a great time browsing the discounts in local restaurants. From chains like Pizza Hut, Burger King and Ask Italian to local pubs, various savings are available. Some offer 2 for 1, others state 25% off your bill. Check the tastecard app for terms and conditions. Most of them say that you need to call and book in advance. Some are only available on particular days or exclude certain months, bank holidays and celebrations.
If you are on a budget, it is well worth having a good look at the app before deciding where to eat. Birmingham restaurant deals vary in terms of both the discount available, and the size of the group it applies to. For example, Ask Italian is 2 for 1 but only for two people. Bella Italia offers 2 for 1 for a group of four, whereas Manhatta in Temple Street gives 2 for 1 for up to six people. Giraffe offers 25% off your entire food bill Sunday to Thursday and doesn’t mention group size. Barajee has a great offer of 25% off your total bill for a group of up to ten people.
Simply open the app and put in your location – either using your current location or detailing the area that you are looking at. Then browse the deals, find the best one for you and book your table, mentioning tastecard when you book. When you’re in the restaurant, you’ll need to either give them a code or scan your card to get your discount.
Other big brand discounts with tastecard available in the West Midlands
If you have a tastecard predominantly for the restaurant discounts, I would urge you to take a browse through the app for other brands with offers listed on there. From the tastecard coffee club to gifts and even clothing brands, there are loads of things you won’t want to miss out on. If you’re travelling to London, check the discounts on days out down there too. There are loads, including Madame Tussauds and the London Eye.
Other big brand discounts on the tastecard app include:
- Virgin Experience Days: 20% off
- Red Letter Days: 10% off
- AA: 25% off breakdown cover
- Hotels.com: 10% off bookings
- Holiday Extras: 25% off airport parking
- JD Williams: 30% off clothing and footwear
At a time when most of us are feeling the pinch when it comes to eating out and entertaining the kids, it’s great to have tastecard on our side. Don’t forget to check the app before booking restaurants, travel and days out. We might as well save some cash where we can.
