Thursday photo #168
The summer holidays are finally here! I’m meeting them with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. Spending more time with the girls will be brilliant, but I’m already struggling to fit in work.
A dramatic weekend
We spent the weekend at Warwick Castle for their Wars of the Roses event. Around here, drama is usually negative. But I’m happy to say that the weekend was dramatic in a positive way. The Wars of the Roses show was incredible and we’re hoping to make it there again later in the summer before it closes. Here’s a video of our weekend.
Summer plans
I’m not a particularly organised person. Well okay, I’m not organised at all. But this summer, I’m having to be. I’ve sat down with the girls and made a summer holiday list of everything we want to do. We’ll alternate big days out with days at home, playing with their toys and going for local walks with the dogs. I’ve arranged for my mum to have the girls one morning a week, which will be a huge help. And I’ll have to miss out on days out on Saturdays so I have that time to work.
But for now, it’s all about taking a break. We’re camping for a few days in the most remote village in England. There’s no phone signal at all, and limited WiFi in a particular area of the campsite. I suspect I’ll be spending quite a bit of time in that area! I’m still having to work, but it will be a relief to just be tech free most of the time.
I’ve packed four books (too much??) and we intend to swim in the lake and cycle, run and walk in the forest. I’m hoping to catch up with a good friend who lives relatively nearby and just make the most of a week off. The girls are beyond excited, it’s great to see them enjoying camping just as much as we do.
Our Thursday photo #168
I’ve taken some brilliant photos of the girls this week. They’ve been loving spending time together, it’s amazing how well they get on. My favourite photo has to be this one of them sitting outside our lodge at Warwick Castle. As usual, Libby has Lia in a headlock but they seem quite happy regardless.
