What a beautiful week. Sunshine at this time of year makes it seem like Spring really is just around the corner doesn’t it? The girls are back to school, I’m back into a routine with work and the river is warming up already. Sunrise Yesterday, I fully intended to get up early and have an hour to myself walking on the Malvern Hills with the dog and watching the sunrise. This is the first time for a while that the school holidays has seemed somewhat hard going. Usually, the thought of it is harder than the reality. This half term has been a challenge though, and I’m not even sure why. Just like that, half a term has passed and the school holidays are impending again. Unusually for us, we’re here for most of the holiday, so we’ll be working our way through my list of things to do in the West Midlands this half term. Watching week A few times a year, they have a watching week at the girls’ ballet school. I always love to…

Do you ever find yourself getting back into things you used to love when your children start to enjoy them too? There have been a few occasions recently when my husband and I have been struck by the realisation that we weren’t setting a good example. Asking a child to do something you rarely do yourself never seems to go particularly well, so it was time to do something about it. Music lessons Libby has been learning the piano for 18 months now. She loves it and is progressing well, but like all children she is reluctant to do as…
