Things to do in Warwickshire Easter holidays 2023

School Easter holidays are approaching, so it’s time for a list of things to do in Warwickshire. Lots of attractions have Easter events taking place this year and others are reopening after a Winter break. From Easter egg hunts to celebrations of spring, there’s lots to see and do around Warwickshire. If you’re on a budget, check out my post about free things to do in Warwickshire as well.

Baddesley Clinton

There’s an Easter Egg hunt at Baddesley Clinton from 3rd to 10th April 2023. Follow the trail around the front lawn to earn a chocolate egg or free-from alternative. Then, stroll around the gardens and nature walk, build a den or get a wildlife spotting sheet from reception and see what you can discover as you walk. Easter is a popular time to visit, so they advise pre-booking a car parking space. Full details of the Easter event are on the Baddesley Clinton website.

British Motor Museum Warwickshire Easter holidays 2023

Bessie the bus is having a birthday bash at the British Motor Museum for the Warwickshire Easter holidays 2023. From 1st to 16th April, fun activities for all the family will be taking place to celebrate 100 years of Bessie. Make your own cardboard Bessie to take home and take a tour of the museum with Jim the bus driver and Mavis the bus clippie. Explore the site on the colour creator trail, learning about the science of colour. Anyone who completes the trail will be rewarded with a sticker. Visit during Easter weekend from 7th to 10th April for an Easter egg hunt. Look out for the coloured eggs to earn your reward. Full details are on the British Motor Museum website.  

Charlecote Park

Enjoy an Easter adventure at Charlecote park from 1st to 16th April 2023. Nature-inspired family activities will lead you on a trail around the parkland. Complete the challenges to earn a chocolate reward. Free-from alternatives are available. Full details of the event are on the Charlecote Park website.

Compton Verney

“Woodland Tribe” will be in Compton Verney this Easter holidays from 5th to 9th April 2023. Book an hour and a half session to help them build the ultimate treehouse in the Compton Verney woodland. Use real tools, think creatively and play on the structures you help to design and build. This event is recommended for children aged over 6 years old and pre-booking is essential. Children will need to be supervised by a parent or guardian. Head to the Compton Verney website for further information and to book.

Enchanted Tea Room Warwickshire Easter holidays 2023

There are lots of fun afternoon teas taking place at the Enchanted Tea Room this Easter holidays. Themes include afternoon tea with the Madrigal sisters from Encanto, pizza making with Cowboy Woody and a couple of different princess afternoon teas. Each event takes place on a different date and you can find details of them all on the April events page of the Enchanted Tea Room website.

Hatton Adventure World

Head to Hatton Adventure World between 1st and 16th April 2023 to enjoy their Easter holidays spring spectacular. Look out for all the piglets, chicks, lambs and goat kids. Time it right and you may even see one being born. Other attractions include bouncy castles, slides, funfair rides, spring walks, puppet and magic shows. There’s even a Grand National sheep race and an assault course. Find out more about the event on the Hatton website.

Mad Museum

Whilst there’s no particular event taking place at the MAD Museum for Warwickshire Easter holidays 2023, this is the only mechanical art venue in the UK. Visitors can interact with art, contraptions and machines, and create marble runs on a giant wall. Craft facilities are available so you can sketch exhibits as well as taking photos and videos. Little ones will love the sensory experience at the MAD museum with its sounds, colours, movement and flashing lights. Children will subtly learn about physics, maths and design as they look at interactive, eccentric and loud art. Head to the MAD Museum website for full information about visiting.  

Packwood House Warwickshire Easter holidays 2023

You’ll need to bring your wellies and grab an activity pack from the entrance to take part in the Easter egg hunt at Packwood house. From 7th to 14th April, visitors will be able to try welly wanging and nest building. Follow the animal print stepping stones around the trail and earn a chocolate egg or free-from alternative. Don’t forget to pre-book your parking space this Easter as it gets busy. Full details of the event and car parking are on the Packwood website.

Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall

Would your children like to spend a day at school during their Easter holidays? What if it happened to be the very same schoolroom that William Shakespeare learned in during the 1570s? It also happens to be where he wrote his first works. Whilst there is no particular event for Easter holidays 2023, there’s always lots going on. The museum is open from 11am to 5pm every day and visitors can experience Tudor life. Shakespeare’s teacher Thomas Jenkins is on hand to teach the lessons and guides will tell you all about the building and the Shakespeare family. See 600-year old wall paintings from medieval times, try on authentic Tudor clothes and learn to write with ink using a quill. Kenilworth Castle (English Heritage)

Two events take place during the Easter holidays 2023 at Kenilworth Castle in Warwickshire. During Easter weekend itself from 7th to 10th April, performers will be on hand to entertain visitors for the Easter Escapades event. You can also play traditional games and take on challenges an activities. The other event is the Easter Adventure Quest, that takes place from 1st to 6th and 11th to 16th April. Children can hunt around the grounds and gardens looking for clues and challenges and discovering traditional games. Track down the hidden eggs to win a chocolate treat and adventurer’s certificate. Warwick Castle Easter holidays 2023

A brand-new trebuchet show is heading to Warwick Castle just in time for Warwickshire Easter holidays 2023. The Falconer’s Quest bird of prey show and the Zog Quest for the Golden Star trail are on hand to entertain visitors as well. Don’t forget to explore the Zog playland and horrible histories maze outside and watch the castle’s bowman displaying his archery skills. Indoors, listen to an interactive story in the Princess Tower and climb the towers and ramparts.
