Things to do in Shropshire Easter holidays 2024

School Easter holidays are approaching, so it’s time for a list of things to do in Shropshire. Lots of attractions have Easter events taking place this year and others are reopening after a Winter break.

From Easter egg hunts to celebrations of spring, there’s lots to see and do around Shropshire. If you’re on a budget, check out my post about free things to do in Shropshire as well.

Attingham Park (National Trust)  

Follow the spring-inspired Easter trail around the grounds of Attingham Park. Take the Mile Walk and find 10 spring-themed trail stations to complete. The trail costs £3 on top of the entry cost. This includes a trail sheet, bunny ears and a chocolate egg. Allergy friendly alternative chocolate eggs are available too.

Good to know: The trail can be very busy at weekends from 11 am to 2.30 pm so they advise coming outside of those times if you would prefer to follow the trail when it’s quieter.

Blists Hill Victorian Town Shropshire Easter Holidays 2024

Two trails take place at Blists Hill Victorian Town this Easter. Younger children will be able to hunt around the site for Easter eggs and older ones can follow a trail based on chocolate-themed advertising from Victorian times. Completing either trail will entitle you to a chocolatey prize. In the printers’ shop, visitors can print their own bag to use for Easter egg hunts at home. Visit over Easter weekend to take part in an egg dancing competition. There’s a prize for every participant.

Boscobel House English Heritage

Crack the clues on an adventure quest this Easter holidays at Boscobel House. Explore the grounds as you look for the clues. Track down Easter eggs to earn a chocolate reward. Don’t forget to check out the playground and learn about the history of this house where Charles II hid during the Civil War from costumed storytellers. Trails cost £2 on top of the entry price. There’s no need to book the trail in advance, but entry tickets are 15% cheaper when you book online.

Hawkstone Park Follies Shropshire Easter Holidays 2024

Dragon eggs have been spotted in the woods this Easter holidays at Hawkstone Park Follies and visitors need to help find them and discover a magic word. Find dragons and trolls as you explore caves, cross bridges and climb towers on your quest. Build an Easter basket to give to the follies wardens so the Easter Bunny can fill your basket as you head back to the visitor centre. Look out for the bunny as you make your way around the park too! The egg hunt costs an additional £1 per child on top of the entry fee and includes the trail, a booklet and a Cadbury mini egg Easter egg when you finish.

Park Hall Farm Countryside Experience

There’s a Wonderland theme at Park Hall Farm in Shropshire for Easter holidays 2024. Look out for an Alice in Wonderland egg hunt and meet and greet with both Alice and the White Rabbit. Cheer on your favourite in the Easter Bunny race and follow extra egg hunt trails around the farm. Entry into the event also includes the use of play areas, tractor rides, museums, planet rooms, science area and meeting the animals. Tickets are cheaper if you book online in advance.

Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre Easter Holidays 2024

Find out what it’s like to be a bird at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Easter holidays 2024. Learn why birds have different shaped beaks, join your family to form a flock, make a nest, go on a bird scavenger hunt and play a migration game. The trail is recommended for 4-11 year-olds and costs £4.50 per child – children need to be accompanied. Advance booking is essential.

Dates: 25th to 29th March and 1st to 5th April 2024.
