Things to do in Herefordshire Easter holidays 2024

School Easter holidays are approaching, so it’s time for a list of things to do in Herefordshire. Lots of attractions have Easter events taking place this year and others are reopening after a Winter break.

Things to do in Herefordshire Easter holidays 2024

Berrington Hall (National Trust)

This year’s Easter Egg hunt at Berrington Hall takes place to the tune of a rhythm & rhyme trail that families can follow around the gardens and grounds. There will be activities for the whole family on the trail, all inspired by poetry and music. The trail costs £3 on top of the entry cost. This includes a trail sheet, bunny ears and a chocolate egg. Allergy friendly alternative chocolate eggs are available too.

Brockhampton Estate (National Trust)

Learn about the birds that make their homes in Brockhampton’s orchards as you hunt for Easter eggs. There will be nature inspired puzzles, challenges and activities to complete along the way, as well as natural play areas to enjoy. The trail costs £3 on top of the entry cost. This includes a trail sheet, bunny ears and a chocolate egg. Allergy friendly alternative chocolate eggs are available too.

Croft Castle (National Trust)

Learn about the world of our fascinating pollinators as you hunt for Easter eggs at Croft Castle. Take part in family activities inspired by nature and find out how Croft Castle relies on the bugs, bees and butterflies that pollinate the fruit and vegetables in the garden. Complete challenges and learn as you go. The trail costs £3 on top of the entry cost. This includes a trail sheet, bunny ears and a chocolate egg. Allergy friendly alternative chocolate eggs are available too.

Eastnor Castle

Eastnor Castle always reopens for the year during the Easter holidays and 2024 is no exception. This year, they’re hosting a mEGGastars Easter treasure hunt. Look around the castle and grounds for clues and hand in your completed sheet at the end to receive a chocolate treat. The usual attractions will all be open too, including:

  • Knight’s Maze
  • Obstacle course
  • Adventure playground
  • Woodland play area
  • Lakeside walks
  • Arboretum walks
  • Rope swings
  • Castle

The website states: “limited pre-booked online tickets only”. Eastnor Castle is very dog friendly indoors and out, and you are welcome to bring a picnic.

Good to know: Entry is free for privilege card holders, historic house members and Blue Peter badge holders. English Heritage members will receive a 20% discount.

Goodrich Castle English Heritage

There’s an Easter adventure quest at Goodrich Castle in Herefordshire for the Easter holidays 2024. Visitors can hunt for clues in the castle’s ground and track down the Easter eggs to win a tasty chocolate reward. Visitors can also learn about the castle with the audio guide and check out the only surviving mortar from the civil war. The cost is £2 per child on top of the entry fee. Advance booking is not required.

Newbridge Farm Park

Newbridge Farm park is now only open during school holidays. For Easter holidays 2024, visitors can enjoy an Easter treasure hunt as well as both outdoor and indoor play. Pony rides will also be available if you visit on 26th March or 4th April 2024.

Activities include:

  • Swings
  • Zipwire
  • Indoor and outdoor sandpits
  • Haybarn with rope swings and hay bale tunnels
  • Slides
  • Climbing frames
  • Go-karts
  • Soft-play
  • Ride-on tractors
