Isn’t it strange how little things can build up to become almost overwhelming? A couple of meetings, a broken down car. Hospital appointments, social engagements, a little more work, things to do in the garden. And you move from coasting along to nearing breaking point without even really noticing it has happened. Donating to charity This week, I’ve been working with AmazonSmile to let people know about their new website. I haven’t been asked to promote it on the blog, but it seems like such a brilliant way to raise money for charity that I thought I’d share my video. If…

Let’s just take a moment to appreciate the fact that I’ve been taking photos of these two for 200 weeks. That means it’s 200 weeks or 1400 days since Lia was born. And I’ve been repeatedly posting these photos for longer than I’ve ever stayed in a job. My CV would say different, but I stayed in one organisation for quite a time and kept moving roles. The weather I’m feeling terribly British for needing to mention this, but hasn’t the weather been crazy this past week? Libby made it to school on Thursday for world book day, but I…

Half term ended just the way it started – with lots of fun and chaos. It’s amazing how quickly a week can fly by when you’re enjoying yourself. None of us were ready for school to start again. Here’s a very brief video of what we’ve been up to. Now it’s over, we’re ready for the next school holidays. Roll on Easter! Exploring new places Isn’t it strange how you can overlook places that are on your doorstep? On Friday, we were meeting some friends. They suggested meeting at Witley Court, which is a local English Heritage site about…

Doesn’t half term fly by? For months, I’ve been looking forward to being able to pick the girls up from school at the same time. After half term, I’ll be able to do just that. Lia will be in preschool three days a week for the same hours that Libby is in school. And now it’s nearly upon us, I wish time would slow down and half term could last a little longer. All Things Wild After much debate, we headed to All Things Wild near Evesham on Monday. We’d intended to have a day out on Saturday, but Lia…

Isn’t it strange how you don’t realise how organised you are until your usual routine goes out of the window? We’re on week two of my husband being away and I’m starting to feel a little frayed. Luckily, he was back for the weekend and we all managed to get up into the hills. If only someone walking past hadn’t told Lia she might get blown away and induced a huge fear of the wind. Pancakes without Nutella Do pancake day and valentines day usually fall this close together? There seems to have been an awful lot of commercialised faux-celebration…

This week has been a source of some trepidation since realising how it was going to pan out. Not only is my husband away, but I had to take both girls to London on my own too. Whilst we were all looking forward to it, I couldn’t help thinking it was a big deal. A new experience On Tuesday, the girls and I filmed a video for the Vitality Healthy Kids campaign. I’ve done an on-location shoot with a film crew before, and I’ve recorded videos at home with the children. But this is the first time I’ve worked with…

It seems that the climate of the blogging world is changing. Since the beginning of 2018, work has been somewhat different. Online, everyone seems to be looking for a quick fix. Visual media, video and images are replacing writing in so many instances. They say a picture speaks a thousand words, but are we getting to a point where words are no longer sought after? Video, images and the city Between the beginning of January and next week, I will have been to London for work three times. This may not seem a lot, but it’s as many times as…
