Thursday photo #204 – Cold and colds

For once, the Easter holidays seem to be going quite slowly here. And I’m pleased to say, that’s because we’re making the most of it. The break started with us piling everything into the camper van and driving to Devil’s Bridge near Aberystwyth. Of course, we set off a few hours late but I’ve never known a time when we didn’t. A short break in the April snow Is it just me that has been totally taken by surprise with this weather? It was particularly shocking when I got up to take Libby to the toilet at about 3am on…

What an incredibly busy week. But all worthwhile because we have finally bought a camper van. Let the adventures commence. Introducing William Shakespeare Back in 2011, my husband and I hired a camper van in New Zealand. We had it for a month and became quite attached to it. So much so that when we came home, we decided to buy one. The only problem was, it was rubbish. Within 12 months, Libby had come along and we needed an extra seat in the camper van. Unfortunately, it wasn’t worth spending the money on it, so it ended up being…

This has been the first of a few incredibly busy weeks here. Life does seem to be full of contrasts. For months, I can work exclusively from home and speak to nobody. Then I end up with a month or so of travelling quite a bit around the country and being uncharacteristically sociable. The eye patch It had been noted a couple of times at the eye hospital that Libby’s left eye was weaker than the right. This was corrected by her glasses. Sadly, the last time we went, the sight in her left eye had deteriorated. I think I’d…

Isn’t it strange how little things can build up to become almost overwhelming? A couple of meetings, a broken down car. Hospital appointments, social engagements, a little more work, things to do in the garden. And you move from coasting along to nearing breaking point without even really noticing it has happened. Donating to charity This week, I’ve been working with AmazonSmile to let people know about their new website. I haven’t been asked to promote it on the blog, but it seems like such a brilliant way to raise money for charity that I thought I’d share my video. If…

Let’s just take a moment to appreciate the fact that I’ve been taking photos of these two for 200 weeks. That means it’s 200 weeks or 1400 days since Lia was born. And I’ve been repeatedly posting these photos for longer than I’ve ever stayed in a job. My CV would say different, but I stayed in one organisation for quite a time and kept moving roles. The weather I’m feeling terribly British for needing to mention this, but hasn’t the weather been crazy this past week? Libby made it to school on Thursday for world book day, but I…

Half term ended just the way it started – with lots of fun and chaos. It’s amazing how quickly a week can fly by when you’re enjoying yourself. None of us were ready for school to start again. Here’s a very brief video of what we’ve been up to. Now it’s over, we’re ready for the next school holidays. Roll on Easter! Exploring new places Isn’t it strange how you can overlook places that are on your doorstep? On Friday, we were meeting some friends. They suggested meeting at Witley Court, which is a local English Heritage site about…

Doesn’t half term fly by? For months, I’ve been looking forward to being able to pick the girls up from school at the same time. After half term, I’ll be able to do just that. Lia will be in preschool three days a week for the same hours that Libby is in school. And now it’s nearly upon us, I wish time would slow down and half term could last a little longer. All Things Wild After much debate, we headed to All Things Wild near Evesham on Monday. We’d intended to have a day out on Saturday, but Lia…
