Our Thursday Photo #26

Well, it’s been one hell of a week. We sadly lost our dog, Soxa on Tuesday. She had been with my husband for 13 years and therefore with me since we started living together. She had the most amazing character and was such a key part of our family that life will never be the same again.

Soxa has been very much Libby’s dog for the past 12 months. She had slowed down in her old age and was just the right pace for Libby. They would walk around together whenever we walked the dogs, with Libby holding the lead and Soxa behaving immaculately for her. As you can imagine, it was quite a shock to Libby when we told her that Soxa was gone, and she still thinks she must be coming back. Lia won’t remember Soxa, but I hope that Libby will, it would be a shame if she forgot her best friend.

So in a break with tradition, this week’s Thursday photo was taken on Tuesday, one last photo of the girls with Soxa before she went to the vets. We were hoping that the vet might be able to help her, but deep down we knew that she probably wouldn’t be coming home. She was starting to suffer and it wouldn’t have been fair to have kept her going any longer.

So here is our Thursday Photo #26, in loving memory of Soxa Ray.
