One of the things the girls miss out on a bit due to our hectic lifestyle is playing with friends. So this weekend, when Lia was invited to a friend’s house, both girls took full advantage. Playing with friends When I decided not to put Libby into our local school, I knew that one of the disadvantages would be that the girls didn’t live near their friends. It concerned me that they’d get left out as the other children went on playdates after school. But as it turned out, it hasn’t been a problem. Libby’s class just weren’t really into…

Do you ever find yourself getting back into things you used to love when your children start to enjoy them too? There have been a few occasions recently when my husband and I have been struck by the realisation that we weren’t setting a good example. The Christmas holidays really seemed to drag here. The girls didn’t go back until last Wednesday and it seemed like such a long time between Christmas being over and school starting again. And just like that it was over The girls slipped seamlessly back into their school routine yesterday, despite a rather hectic week. We spent the weekend camping in…

Happy New Year! Blogging and social media took a back seat here over the school holidays and the break was definitely welcome. That said, some time away has definitely increased my motivation. It’s good to be back. Reverse resolutions I’ve never really been one for new year’s resolutions, but this year I’ve taken that attitude a bit further. Taking a step back from work for a few weeks has made me realise that for the past year or so, I’ve been getting it all wrong. I’ve been so worried about getting everything right, that I’ve hardly been blogging or posting…
