Thursday Photo #112

This week, we’re lucky enough to be spending the week at Bluestone Wales, on a last-minute holiday. I will be reviewing Bluestone separately but suffice to say, we’re all having a brilliant time. It had been quite a busy week even before we set off on holiday, with a day out at the National Sea Life Centre on Friday, a family barbecue on Saturday and a day of catching up on work and getting ready to come on holiday on Sunday. Since arriving at Bluestone, the weather hasn’t been particularly kind to us. Luckily, Bluestone is the perfect place to be…

This week has been an ordinary week. Nothing unusual has happened and it has flown by as quickly as ever. But this week, I’ve tried a little bit harder to slow down and appreciate the ordinary moments. The ones I know I will look back on and yearn for in years to come when the girls are adults and don’t need their mum anymore. Our little moments We have started receiving regular updates via a computer system at the nursery Libby goes to and today, there was a photograph on there of her painting a daffodil. I am finally organising myself for Christmas. When I say finally, I don’t mean that early December is late to start getting ready for Christmas. I mean that this is the first year I’ve ever been vaguely organised. I’ve baked Christmas cake, bought a tree and decorations (they’re going up on Saturday) and I’ve even bought a few gifts. I’ve been fairly overrun with work as usual and on Monday, I went to the Co-op to buy some wine. Having got to bed at around 2 am on Sunday night, I was in my usual haggard state. I grabbed my bottle…

Things are definitely getting a little easier here. I’m still struggling to find the time to do anything but somehow it just doesn’t seem quite so difficult. Perhaps that’s because we’ve had a few really nice days since last Thursday. The first was the fireworks at Drayton Manor last Friday. Sad though it was that my husband couldn’t come, it was lovely to see my friend and we all had a fabulous afternoon and evening. The fireworks were truly spectacular. Libby is back at nursery now that half term is over and she’s got straight back into the swing of things…

Things are slowly starting to get a little bit better around here. I mistakenly thought that I’d have a bit more time once my husband came home from hospital. That hasn’t really been the case but with half term thrown into the mix I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised. We’ve had one of those weeks where we just haven’t done much. We didn’t have a car for two days because it was in the garage. We ended up spending a lot of time at home making a mess and not getting much done. We did manage to get involved in…
