Friday Feature #11

As you may have noticed, I am working hard to do something about the palm oil industry at the moment. I wrote previously about the fact that I am starting a palm oil free marketplace.  So when I find a great product that is palm oil free, I’m keen to spread the word about it. Today I want to tell you about Baby Bath Bombs. These gorgeous little bath bombs are made specially with children in mind. They are natural, palm oil free, allergen free, vegan, not tested on animals and fine for delicate skin. They are suitable for babies…

To the baby of the family

Today is your first birthday. I can’t believe how quickly the last 12 months have gone.  You have changed so much from the little pink bundle that I was handed a year ago today. It has been wonderful to watch you grow and develop into a beautiful little girl.  The day you were born, your big sister came with dad to collect you from the hospital. Having a baby sister was the most exciting thing that has ever happened to her.  Her first words when she saw you were, “Oh baby sister, baby sister’s got a head!” We explained to…

Our Thursday Photo #52

Well here it is, Thursday photo #52. That’s a whole year of photos. Lia will be celebrating her first birthday on Sunday.  This week has sadly been a bit of a rubbish one, today is the first day that Lia has been back to her normal self after being really quite poorly over the weekend.  Libby now has the bug, but she does seem to have a much milder dose than Lia had. An Easter soft play treat

It’s rather odd I think, as a parent to two pre-school age children, that I always wonder what we’re going to do with ourselves during the Easter holidays.  During term time, it’s so easy to know what to do with the girls. There is an activity going on every day, then various other things come up for a break from our usual routine.  In the Easter holidays though, all their little activities stop. I have to keep them busy in the mornings so that they sleep in the afternoon, otherwise my work time goes out of the window.  Our default…

Carrying a baby in a sling

Yesterday, a good friend of mine forwarded me a link to a news article about the fact that using slings and baby carriers is becoming a bit more mainstream.  You see, I’m one of those “hippy” mums that carries my baby. Actually, Lia has never been in a pushchair, pram or buggy.  When I had Libby, we bought a nice off-road buggy, so that we could take her walking on the hills. At the time, I was in touch with a friend from school via Facebook and I noticed that she was into something I’d never heard of, called “babywearing.”…
