Offers and advice from Tesco Baby Club

This is a collaborative post. On 20th and 21st January 2017, Tesco are hosting a Baby Club event for parents to be and parents of babies and toddlers. I went along to our local one this morning to find out what it was all about. About Tesco Baby Club If you’re a parent to be or have a baby or young toddler, it is well worth signing up to the Tesco Baby Club. Dear Toddler

Dear toddler, Every day you’re learning. The world is bright, new and exciting and every day brings new joys and challenges. At the moment, you see everything with curious eyes. Each leaf, tree, butterfly, cow and tiny ant is a new discovery. Every day is a fresh start and a reason to smile. Each time we see each other, you laugh and I wag my tail to show you how much I love you. I was there when you took your first few steps. I was so pleased for you but I couldn’t explain. I tried to tell you but nobody…

The impact of screen time on behaviour

This week, I wrote in my Thursday photo post that I had noticed a real link between Libby spending a small amount of time in front of a computer and a deterioration in her behaviour.  I want to put a couple of things in context. Firstly, I’m not judging or criticising anyone for letting their children watch television or use iPads or other technology. After all, I’m only writing this because I totally understand the need to use a screen to entertain children sometimes, because I did just that this week.  The second thing I want to make clear is that Libby…

To the baby of the family

Today is your first birthday. I can’t believe how quickly the last 12 months have gone.  You have changed so much from the little pink bundle that I was handed a year ago today. It has been wonderful to watch you grow and develop into a beautiful little girl.  The day you were born, your big sister came with dad to collect you from the hospital. Having a baby sister was the most exciting thing that has ever happened to her.  Her first words when she saw you were, “Oh baby sister, baby sister’s got a head!” We explained to…

Our Thursday Photo #52

Well here it is, Thursday photo #52. That’s a whole year of photos. Lia will be celebrating her first birthday on Sunday.  This week has sadly been a bit of a rubbish one, today is the first day that Lia has been back to her normal self after being really quite poorly over the weekend.  Libby now has the bug, but she does seem to have a much milder dose than Lia had. This made me think it was probably flu, because Libby had the flu jab whereas Lia didn’t (it wasn’t offered to her age group).  Mercifully, Lia is…

No I’m not a pretty girl

This afternoon, Libby said the words that no parent to a little girl wants to hear. I brushed her hair, put a clip in it and put her glasses on before she went to the park. She asked me why I’d put a hair clip in and I said, “Because it looks lovely. You always look lovely and now your hair is nice and tidy as well. Shall I show you in the mirror?”  She nodded, so we went to the bathroom mirror.  She looked in the mirror and I said, “Look, what a pretty girl.” She said, “What a not-pretty…

Our Thursday photo #44

This evening when he got home from work, hubby took the girls to the shop to buy me something for mother’s day. This sounded promising, after all it could only be an improvement on last year, when I received this for mother’s day.  Hubby was quick to point out that it’s the thought that counts, but I’m pretty sure not a lot of thought went into this.  Anyway, fast forward to this evening, and things are looking up somewhat, since Libby came home from the shop and announced that she’d bought me some flowers, “But I’m not allowed to tell…
